ABOUT POSABILITIES
PosAbilities caters to youth aged 6 years - 24 years. Our goal is in building the capacity of our ASD youth to be resilient, manage their emotions, develop and maintain relationships, live independently and have fulfilling successful lives. Through identifying their strengths and teaching them how to use them to overcome any challenges, ASD youths will learn how to live happy and flourishing lives with a sense of belonging, accomplishment, connection and freedom.
We aim to instil a sense of confidence in the strengths they already have and build on them, developing further strengths. Using Positive Psychology tools and techniques, we focus on what they CAN do and show them how to live a happier and fulfilling life, allowing them to flourish, maximising their potential.
HOW WE OPERATE
Our priority is the development of each individual, focussing on their strengths and developing goals to maximise their potential. Our Vision is Strong Minds : Strong Futures.
Through the provision of either 1:1 coaching or group coaching, we develop a program that suits the individual, ensuring that it is tailored to suit each young person.
We provide a highly supportive service that focuses on the positive, to build strong minds to enable strong futures.
POSITIVE COACHING
The program was devised based on Positive Psychology methods and research, focussing on what clients currently CAN do and build on that to maximise their potential, increasing skills in resilience, relationships and confidence, but also teaching them the elements of being happier.
10 STEPS TO HAPPINESS
This is a group program for up to 6 clients. The purpose of this group is to take clients through the elements of how to be happy. Scientific research has shown that there are things we all need in order to be happy. We have developed a program that incorporates these elements into an easy to remember model, relevant for youth and appropriate for those on the spectrum.
ASD SOCIAL CLUB
Young people with autism love to socialise! The ASD Social Club is an opportunity to get together, meet new friends and have some fun with people who have the same interests. The Social Clubs runs every week on a Wednesday and Thursday nights and includes activities such as Movies, Bowling, Dinner, Quiz nights, Barefoot Bowls, Bingo and so much more!

"I can only give positive praise for Jo as a teacher for my son. She was supportive, understanding & nurturing for him as an individual. She allowed him to learn & be himself. This gave him the skills so that now he is working, driving & living his life to the fullest. Jo has given him skills that will stay with him his whole life. I highly recommend Jo for any child on the spectrum, her support & skills will only enhance your child’s life."

"I just wanted to say thank you for all the help and support that you have given Dylan. Without your continuous support and guidance, I’m sure Dylan wouldn’t be where he is today, as you go above and beyond to help these kids and I just want you to know you are so inspiring as the passion and enthusiasm you have to help my son and kids on the spectrum is just amazing. So, thank you so much!"
